FirstLight® Home Care of the Foothills Opens in Grayson
National non-medical home care provider expands to Northeastern Kentucky to meet community’s growing need for home care, senior care services
GRAYSON, KY – September 6, 2017 – FirstLight Home Care, an award-winning provider of non-medical home care, today announced the opening of its location in Grayson, KY. Local residents Shadow and Rebekah Skaggs own the new location, which offers a variety of home care, companion care and senior care services to residents of Grayson and the 12 surrounding counties.
The new FirstLight Home Care office serves area seniors, new and busy mothers, those recovering from surgery and other adults in need of assistance. FirstLight caregivers are available to help with many needs – from household duties such as cooking, cleaning and running errands, to mobility assistance and dementia care.
“We saw an unmet need in our community and wanted to ensure the underserved elderly and disabled populations were being cared for. Also, watching friends and family struggle to find someone to assist in the care of their loved ones was something that weighed heavily on our hearts,” said Shadow Skaggs. “Rebekah and I were both born and raised in Grayson and we plan to always call this town home. Our hearts are here.”
“Shadow’s previous practice in nursing and Rebekah’s expertise in health education, coupled with their true passion for improving and caring for their community, make them the perfect pair to open FirstLight’s only office in Northeastern Kentucky,” said Jeff Bevis, FirstLight Home Care Chief Executive Officer. “Their work will surely have a positive, lasting impact on the clients and communities they serve.”
Since opening its first franchise location in 2010, FirstLight Home Care has experienced steady growth and is now serving or in the process of serving clients in more than 150 locations throughout the U.S.
