Local Resident Opens FirstLight Home Care in Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (May 14, 2015) — FirstLight Home Care, provider of quality, affordable, non-medical in-home care for adults, is now open in Gaithersburg. It is owned by local resident David Hofmann.

FirstLight Home Care of Gaithersburg offers complete companion care services for seniors, new mothers, those recovering from surgery and others in need of assistance. Services include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping, driving to doctors’ appointments, personal care and any other services that help the people we serve stay comfortable in their own homes.

In addition to Gaithersburg, FirstLight Home Care will serve residents in Rockville, Darnestown, Montgomery Village, Derwood, as well as northeast and northwest Montgomery County.

As a former executive working with an American company to improve healthcare in China, Hofmann’s business and personal experiences promoted him to explore how he could help others who needed help to maintain their high quality of life.

“When we started caring for my wife’s godmother, it made me think about how I might be able to help other seniors and family members in a similar situation,” Hofmann said.

As they continue to advocate on her behalf and assist her with meeting her needs, Hofmann wants to help others who find themselves in a similar situation.

“I want to make sure others in our situation know they are not alone and there is assistance out there to ensure their loved ones have the very best care possible and can maintain the quality of life they deserve,” Hofmann said.

Hofmann partnered with FirstLight Home Care because of its resources and culture of care.
