Local Resident Opens FirstLight Home Care of Fox Valley

CARPENTERSVILLE, IL – (June 3, 2014) — FirstLight Home Care, a provider of quality, affordable, non‑medical in-home care for adults, is now open in Fox Valley.

FirstLight Home Care of Fox Valley is owned and operated by local resident Katherine Anderson. Located in Carpentersville, the company will serve residents living in Kane, Cook and DuPage counties.

Prior to opening FirstLight Home Care of Fox Valley, Anderson worked in sales and served as a chaplain both in hospital and church environments. As she explored an opportunity that would offer a stable career and the ability to serve others, she quickly recognized that home care would be something that she was passionate about.

“I know what it is like to care for aging parents, and while serving as a chaplain I saw so many situations where home care would have helped the family,” Anderson said. “I knew that opening FirstLight Home Care would be a wonderful opportunity for both me and the community,”

In addition to helping seniors, FirstLight Home Care offers customized caregiving services for people with disabilities, those recovering from surgery, injury or rehabilitation, new moms just home from the hospital or families of deployed military personnel—anyone who needs assistance to make life easier.

Anderson is a member of Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce, Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce and the Elgin Senior Providers Network (ESPN). She also enjoys reading, yoga and photography.
