Local Resident Opens FirstLight Home Care in Little Rock

Little Rock, Ark. – (February 7, 2014) — FirstLight Home Care, provider of quality, affordable, non-medical in-home care for adults, is now open in Little Rock. FirstLight will service residents of Little Rock and surrounding areas including North Little Rock, Benton, Bryant, Maumelle, Roland and Bigelow. It is owned and operated by Doug Ballinger.

Prior to opening FirstLight Home Care of West Little Rock, Ballinger worked in his family’s business managing a chain of convenience stores in Memphis. He has also worked as director of reservations for Fairfield Resorts, now Wyndham Vacation Resorts, in Little Rock and Fort Lauderdale. His interest in opening a FirstLight location was strengthened when he bonded with two elderly women who lived across the street from him, one of which lived to be 103 years old. He said the two women had incredible stories to tell and lessons to teach. Within his own family, Ballinger has become the person to take care of aging relatives.
