Senior Care Advocates Open FirstLight Location in Littleton, CO

Experienced team helps meet the growing demand for home care services, brings caregiver jobs to the local market

LITTLETON, CO – October 7, 2021 – FirstLight® Home Care, an award-winning provider of home care services, is pleased to welcome one of its newest offices, FirstLight Home Care of Denver Southwest.

The new location is operated by franchise owners Lindsey Mendenhall and Dina Chatwin, a compassionate team who has experience caring for loved ones and with a special affection for those they are entrusted to provide care. The caregiving team at FirstLight delivers quality, essential home care services to residents in Arapahoe, Denver, Jefferson and surrounding areas.

Mendenhall and Chatwin were first introduced to home care as concerned daughters. During Chatwin’s mother’s fight with cancer, her mother fell and had to enter a rehab center, then a care community, and eventually hospice. These nurses and other health professionals who provided care became sacred extensions of the family. But Chatwin saw how much her mother wished to be at home, in a familiar environment surrounded by those she loved

At the same time, Mendenhall watched as her mother cared for her aging grandmother. She saw how providing this full-time support affected her mom’s other relationships and the toll it took on her emotionally and physically.

“Our personal experiences and some research led us to home care,” said Chatwin. “We want to serve our community by caring for and bringing respect and awareness to the aging population. Our mission is to help the senior community live a life of dignity and joy in the place they call home.”

FirstLight Home Care of Denver Southwest provides non-medical home care services to individuals who need support at home, including seniors, veterans, adults with disabilities and those recuperating. Highly trained FirstLight caregivers help with many needs, from errands, transportation and household tasks to individual responsibilities like bathing and personal hygiene.

As former military, Chatwin and Mendenhall also look forward to serving the veteran community.
